Be Well Cleanse: Day Six

This post will (lucky for all of you) be shorter because it's 11:12pm and I am exhausted! I just got home from an amazing small and intimate concert at the ICA - Martha Wainwright! She was amazing. Her voice is every bit as incredible and full of such range and vulnerability, somehow so much more powerful in person versus on her records!

So today was day six of my cleanse, I felt pretty normal! I woke up early again, did my usual Friday yoga class (which was awesome as always), had my two shakes, and brought a homemade lunch to work. It was a pseudo-typical kale + arugula salad, but I added leftover raw cauliflower, some kalamata olives, spiralized raw beets, an avocado, shredded carrots, and some great northern beans, tossed with that lemon vinaigrette I made.

Since I went to the concert right after work, I only had time to drink my 3rd shake of the day. Sadly I skipped dinner, because honestly 10pm would be too late for me to eat a meal. I had a good amount if pistachios and two olives, and oddly enough I'm not that hungry. It's funny because my very close friend that went to the concert with me is also doing a cleanse, but from a different company, except hers is way more intense than mine (she can only have one meal a day, lunch!!), but she mentioned how her stomach must've shrunk since she is full faster. I realized, oh my gosh, my stomach has shrunk! I too can eat less and feel full! It's pretty cool. I never realized how I was definitely overeating and had larger portion sizes than I needed to.

Also, and this is major for me, I'm starting to think of treating cheese, my beloved frommage, as more of a special treat that I indulge in once in a while, versus always needing cheese in my salad. I can feel the difference in my joints - I have significantly less joint pain than I had when I was eating cheese/drinking alcohol - which granted the latter was typically only on weekends, but still... I hated waking up and my hands would be swollen the the joints/my knuckles would be sore and tender.

Thanks again for supporting me through this cleanse, and with this blog! You all are awesome and I am so grateful for you to read my writings.

xx
