As I'm in the process of this toxic purge, I might as well share some awesome purchases from yesterday; and yesterday also happened to include the Pride Parade, for those living in Boston. Let me just say, it was flipping incredible. I haven't felt that much energy and love in this city in a couple of years. It was a beautiful day weather-wise, and it was also a really beautiful day for this city. So happy to see people so accepting and positive! We still have a ways to go but how awesome to see how we are moving forward.
I also stopped into Follain, obviously. I mean why not? I was in the market for a new mascara. With the assistance of two lovely ladies in the store (Isabel and Alex!), I picked RMS Beauty's volumizing mascara. It works just as well and in fact better than my go-to volumizing mascara by Maybelline. It left my lashes looking natural, longer, fuller, and even silky; it stayed on without flaking or rubbing off, and it was a cinch to remove with water. I also found a natural, plant-derived salicylic acid spot treatment Blemish Lotion by Indie Lee. As someone who swears by the power of the lotion by Mario Bedescu, I was so happy to find a safe alternative.
Side note, I also ended up having a really great conversation with the two employees at Follain about Pride and how the conversation about the trans* community is starting to become more mainstream...we certainly have more to do to move forward, but it was nice to have a smart conversation with two like-minded ladies. One mentioned that her mother works at a public Boston high school and they actually allow students to choose or change their PGP (preferred gender pronoun) at any time, and the teachers/staff respect it. Amazing! It's funny how the universe can do that sometimes, bring inspiration and positivity into our lives; I always feel so much more positive and energized after a good, thought-provoking conversation with people.
Oh, and NBD, I've got Wanderlust coming up in less than a week (more on that soon!).
xx
